Carefully, for whatever reason, he watched the ground as he stepped. John's room appeared in his view as he approached it. "John?" he called silently.
There was no response. Continuing his consideration, he peered through the door crack to better scan the room. "Sleeping." he thought to himself.
Though relieved that such a burden as caring for a miniscule human was lifted, Tommy felt a void, if only a small one. He had been getting to know another person. "It's zany" he thought, but his ego could not defend him from that feeling of loss. He almost regretted that it had been a dream. He
regretted that the person whose life he had saved twice, who was incredible for him to look at, to observe, to wonder about - was a figment.
