Jon raced across campus, dodging between the dozens of students crowding the quad. His next class started in just a few minutes and he wanted to make sure the room was set. Jon was an adjunct professor at a large university in the Midwest. Hed been teaching for several years and he loved his job. Jon was young for a professor but still looked older and distinguished in his khaki pants, cardigan and messenger bag very professorial. At 61, he was a tall man and built like a swimmer. As he entered the room he immediately saw his worst student, Dave.
The thing about Dave was that he wasnt stupid, yet this was the third time Dave was taking Jons class. For some reason he just kept failing and failing. He was on the universitys basketball team and couldnt care less about his studies. Dave wasnt always the massive, tall jock that sat in Jons class this semester. The first time Dave took Jons class he was barely 6ft tall, but now he was a senior and after several growth spurts, Dave towered over almost every other student and his professor.
