I stared at the picture on my phone and then glanced up to the wardrobe that was standing on a tarp on someone's front lawn for a yard sale. I looked at the picture on my phone again. It looked small and demure from a downward angle, but the wardrobe in person towered over me almost frighteningly so.
That's when I caught some guy muttering, measuring a pine desk. He straightened up and placed his hands on his hips. "It's too big."
"Did you also see the Craigslist ad?" I asked. After he nodded, I shrugged, "I thought this wardrobe was small enough for my room but..." I looked at the ad on my phone again. "Did he stand on a ladder to take these pictures or something?"
The guy rubbed his chin and called it quits, heading off to his beat-up truck. With my attention on the wardrobe again, I tested the doors and drawers. It was beautiful work and the price was low but there was no way this was going to fit in my room.
