The first thing Alan did when he got home was shower, trying to clear his head, and for more realistic purposes attempting to get the smell of Ben's sweat off of his body. On the ride home, it had astounded him how much the cab of his truck started to smell and almost FEEL like he was still there, tied up tight inside another man's sock. He had to roll down the windows to make it home without panicking.
He stood, leaning against the cold tiles, letting the water roll down his body with his eyes closed. Was he still in shock? The deep thrumming sound of his heart, still raised more than if he had just gotten done with his cardio at the gym, echoed in his ears. The sound increased, the vision of titanic socked feet entered his head. He saw himself falling backwards, scrambling backwards on all fours as the vibrations kept steadily getting louder and closer. Did the owner of those feet even see him? His heart started beating faster, keeping the time of the footfalls, until they were directly over him, and he jumped, jamming his eyes open to see just the familiar off-white tiles of his shower, warm water encasing him rather than the clammy feeling of the underside of a giant foot. He shook his head, water splashing against his curtain as the images faded from his head, but his chest still beat with the reminder of what he saw.
