Cousin's Redemption

Hey everyone, this is my first story on here. Bare with me, english is not my first language.

It’s late afternoon, I’m driving to a family reunion and my phone rings through my car’s bluetooth.

“Hunter? Where are you, honey?” My mothers voice fill up the car.
“Mom, I’m almost there. I don’t even know why I’m coming to this” I answered with evident disdain.
“C’mon now, it’s your cousin’s 21st birthday!”
“He’s not my cousin, he’s your best friend’s son and he’s annoying.” I said, making my point straight.
“He’s family and you guys are almost the same age.”
“I’m 28!” My voice showed how annoyed I am.
“Either way, Margery was delighted to know that you are coming.”
“Okay mom I’ll see you soon.”
