Little Butt and the Behemoth

“Remember, Joey’s a lot smaller than you, so be careful!”

“I guessed that already, Ma. He barely comes up to my nipples.”

“And don’t eat all the sandwiches I made for you – be sure to save him at least one.”

“Thanks, Ma, I’ll remember. They look good.”

“Tell him, half are turkey and the rest are peanut butter.”

“He graduated top of our class, Ma – I think he’ll figure it out.”

I cram the overstuffed sack of provisions in my duffel bag and swing it over my broad shoulder so it flops over the rolled sleeping bag strapped to my back. My thoughts keep going back to yesterday’s chat. So Joey calls me the Behemoth! It makes me smile every time I think of it.
