Chapter 9: Embraced in Deaths Loving Arms
The silence had returned, a deep bellowing gust filled my ears as blackness surrounded me. The nights events seemed to evade my conscious mind and felt like years rather than mere hours. Rolling hills of reds, burgundies and soft shades of light filled my vision as if in some strange dream-world. This all felt too real as well as terrifyingly familiar.
Had I been here before? I said aloud.
Or was I trapped in some dream dressed nightmare. The hills swayed like they lived and breathed and were soft to the touch with a cool tender feel. The world had an alluring scent in its atmosphere almost intoxicating. I could have sworn I knew this smell, it was comforting yet eerie, and it had a timber musk that floated gently over the winds.
