(Soon we’re at the Lucky Dragon! The buffet’s in a shady part of town now, but the regulars still come back for Mr. Wong’s tasty all-you-can-eat spread. It’s a hungry young man’s best friend! We follow Mrs. Lovegren’s quick footsteps into the large, high-ceilinged restaurant with great anticipation. I’m starving! Even without my heavy motorcycle boots I’d have to duck to get through the double-door, but it’s worth it for the best Chinese food in town.)

“I’m getting a crispy spring roll,” says Joey eyeing the buffet. “Once I finished four!”

“I can do four in a mouthful, but I try not to,” I say. “Ma always says it looks rude.”

“I’m with your Ma on that one,” Joey says, winking at his mom, “but it makes me happy to watch you eat.”
