When I opened my eyes, I saw a huge face looking down at me. I heard a horse making a snorting noise. I could see rays from the fading sunlight above the head that was over me and it was illuminating tiny bits of dust floating in the air. Above that was a pitched roof, entirely made of wood, with cross-beams that held various pieces of metal and lengths of lumber.

The man with the face spoke, "Are you OK Brent? You had quite a fall there."

I looked at the face and tried to remember who it was, why it was so large, and what had happened. The blue eyes were astonishingly kind. I felt myself start to cry, even though I wasn't particularly sad.

The massive forehead of the man's face wrinkled in concern. He had wavy black hair that was astonishingly ropy and thick. The smell of dust and horse and something grassy, like alfalfa, was all in my nose. I could feel rough leather holding me and the deep beat of a pulsing heart was in the background of it all.
