Natural Selection
For the Eberhardt brothers Aiden and Adam, natural selection, the gradual, non-random process by which biological traits become either more or less common in a population as a function of differential reproduction of their bearers meant nothing and everything. The brothers well understood natural selection as a key mechanism of evolution, but neither one was in a position to do anything about it after they met the Johnson brothers, Jamal and Derrick. The term "natural selection, popularized by Darwin who intended it to be compared with artificial selection, what we now call selective breeding, was reinforced by the talented Schneider sisters, Kristi and Krista.
